Nestled right on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda is Buhoma Lodge. This secluded and serene lodge has been designed sustainably and built using locally sourced materials. A great deal of thought has been given to the design of the lodge to ensure guests enjoy uninterrupted views, with each of the ten chalets giving guests a front row view over the forest canopy and Bwindi National Park.
Ten comfortable chalets have been carefully built from local materials. Each suite has a private verandah and enormous windows, allowing guests spectacular views of the forest canopy and the Bwindi National Park. The lounge area, complete with bar and dining facilities, offers a cosy
place to discuss the day’s activities.
The chalets offer solar powered lighting, en-suite bathrooms and a private viewing deck. The elevated bar and lounge area allow guests to rest up after a rewarding day of gorilla trekking, where they can enjoy a few drinks (from our fully stocked bar) and share their experiences with everyone around a warm and cosy fireplace.
Meals are freshly made combining local and international cuisine. Our warm and friendly staff will have you wanting to stay a little longer, especially with the complimentary post gorilla trek pampering massage!
HOW TO GET THERE? Kihihi airstrip is the closest airstrip which is 1 hour and 15 minutes from the camp. The camp can also be reached by vehicle from Kampala; and there is also the option of a scenic road transfer from Kigali, Rwanda.
SPECIAL INTEREST: Trekking the Gorillas, but there is also all sorts of other wildlife to be seen.
“Just over a week into my safari and I wonder how I’ve changed, if at all. Certainly the experiences I’ve had and things I’ve seen have shaped me in someway. But then, as if by some ancient, unspeakable memory, I remember… it’s in my blood.”
