SPECIAL INTEREST: Mana Pools is absolute paradise, the scenes along the Zambezi never disappoint.
The later you go in the season, the dryer it will be and the more animals you will see along the banks of the Zambezi. Having said this, its incredible to visit any time, its up there with our favourite camps on the continent.
Greater kudu, Burchell’s zebra, impala, warthog and common waterbuck can be seen on the surrounding plains and the grunting of hippo can be heard all day. Birdlife is superb, with numerous local specials like collared palm-thrush and racket-tailed roller.
“Just over a week into my safari and I wonder how I’ve changed, if at all. Certainly the experiences I’ve had and things I’ve seen have shaped me in someway. But then, as if by some ancient, unspeakable memory, I remember… it’s in my blood.”
