A sense of grandeur is woven throughout the turn-of-the-century manor house and private cottages through a blend of authentic European style and East African influences.
Singita Sasakwa Lodge is located in the Grumeti Reserves in northern Tanzania, and forms part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem.
Singita Sasakwa Lodge holds special appeal for those with a passion for refined splendour, ensconcing its guests in comfort, luxury and old-world elegance. From this superb vantage point, one can become absorbed in the marvel of an abundance of wildlife, including the annual migration of zebra and wildebeest, widely known as the greatest natural spectacle on earth.
The view from the lodge’s spacious veranda is almost endless over the majestic Serengeti plains below. A sense of grandeur is woven throughout the turn-of-the-century manor house and private cottages through a blend of authentic European style and East African influences.
HOW TO GET THERE? Daily flights from Arusha into Singita Grumeti.
SPECIAL INTEREST: The Singita wine collection is the largest private collection on the continent. The Grumeti has huge concentrations of game even without the annual migration.
The best time for photography is from May – November when the grass is not as lush, but the bush is the most alive during summer just after the rains. In the Grumeti the Wildebeest and Zebra in the Migration are usually present in July and then again in September
The game drives are all conducted in state-of-the-art Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of six guests. During your stay at Singita Grumeti, you are likely to spot a great variety of wildlife including cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, zebra and the rare Colobus monkey.

“Just over a week into my safari and I wonder how I’ve changed, if at all. Certainly the experiences I’ve had and things I’ve seen have shaped me in someway. But then, as if by some ancient, unspeakable memory, I remember… it’s in my blood.”
