From the elegant oryx, to the mighty desert elephant, there are animals to be seen here that allow for a safari experience with a twist- witness the incredible capacity of adaptation of both animals and plants in this landscape, and marvel at its beauty.
Namibia is a country of wide, open spaces, its stark beauty owed to the wonderful desert scenery and the incredibly harsh but breath-taking Skeleton Coast.
The country is relatively new in the safari world, but there is an excellent range of hotels, camps and safari lodges. These locations are frequently far apart, and charter flights are often necessary . Namibia is recommended for travellers who have done some serious, in-depth game viewing elsewhere. The prime attraction is endless and captivating desert scenery, amazing colours and contrasts, spectacular sunsets, and the interaction between the desert and its resident wildlife, as well as remote communities of people such as the Himba.
With an average of 300 days of sunshine annually Namibia is one of the sunniest countries in the world. The climate is generally arid which means that the potential evaporation is higher than the precipitation, resulting in very low levels humidity. In general Namibia’s climate can be described as hot and dry, although substantial fluctuations during the seasons or even within one day are typical.

Despite the ruggedness of the Namibian landscape, a stunning range of flora and fauna thrive here. The sheer abundance and variety of wildlife of all sizes is staggering. Namibians are deeply committed to protecting their country’s natural resources and the richness of wildlife is testament to this. Namibia is the only country in the world where large numbers of rare and endangered wildlife are translocated from national parks to open communal land.
