Giving Back

African-Born Safaris has partnered with The Lunchbox Fund, a fantastic organisation that is helping to change the lives of hundreds of school children in South Africa.

Did you know that for every person that travels on safari with us, we will donate enough meals for a child to eat at school for a whole year? Since we started the initiative, we have fed 85 kids, and we cannot wait to do more.

In October 2015, we were invited to New York where we presented a Safari Prize to be raffled at a big Lunchbox Fund fundraising event at Gabrielle Kreutzer. The raffle prize, 5 nights on safari in Botswana (valued at $18 000), raised over $50 000 (which will provide meals for 1000 children at school for a year). We also got to meet a few fabulous people on the night of the event.

We were invited back for the 2017 event and donated another safari prize worth $40 000!

The Lunchbox Fund has created an app called ‘Feedie’. Basically you can turn photos of your food into meals for kids, and it’s super easy…
1. Download Feedie and connect your social networks.
2. Visit a participating Feedie restaurant. (There are plenty and the app will even show you where they are)
3. Use Feedie to take and share a photo of your meal – the restaurant then makes a donation equal to one meal to The Lunchbox Fund.
